The long-awaited Fallout 76 update has finally arrived. When it came to Fallout 76 when it had first launched it had many bugs and glitches that made the game impossible to play for most. With many players quitting the game, some veterans hoped for a new feature in the game that would make the game more interesting to play.
My Experience
When I first heard about the new Fallout game back in 2017, I thought that the player would be able to choose their species and faction. So when I first started playing and found out that on launch the player would just be a vault dweller I along with other lifelong Fallout fans were disappointed. I first started playing Fallout 76 when the beta came out in 2018, the game was filled with bugs that made the game almost unplayable and lacked the NPCs that made the game interesting. After a year of the game’s release, 76 had finally added NPCs to the game making the game more enjoyable for veteran players. This update to the game had many players come back to the game after its original failed release and had players discuss in social media forums what they hope to see Bethesda release with the next Fallout 76 update.
Ghoul update

Most players like myself have always wanted to have the option to become a ghoul before the game had even come out, especially with the last Fallout update where we were introduced to ghoul-like creatures the Lost. This Fallout 76 update allows a player to become a ghoul with a one-time reversal without paying. To start the ghoul quest the player must listen to the radio distress call and meet with an NPC with extreme radiation sickness in white springs resort. From there the quest to become a ghoul is quite simple, but becoming a ghoul does have some drawbacks.
Pro and Cons

Before you think about becoming a ghoul you should first know about the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a ghoul since this could change how you will be able to play the game.
Pros
- You no longer take radiation damage. Instead, radiation heals the damage that you have taken and fills your glow meter
- You will now have 28 new perks that you will be able to use after becoming a ghoul
- There will be 2 more legendary perks that you can get
- You will have an extra health bar (the glow meter) that has its own unique effects
- There will be a feral ability available for you that can increase your melee damage
Cons
- You will need to wear a disguise to enter certain factions like the Brotherhood of Steel
- You will not be able to use the Bloodied build as a ghoul because radiation heals you
- Some base perks won’t work for you as a ghoul
- The glow meter can be difficult to maintain depending on the perks that you might have activated
- The feral ability comes with a lot of debuffs like a decrease with certain SPECIAL stats
